The HOMEworks Research Advisory Group is comprised of national, regional, and NYC experts and thought leaders to ensure such a multi-focal approach is based on research evidence and proven best practices. Our February 2020 convening provided an introduction and framework for understanding homelessness within NYC, fostered a strategic cross-sector and cross-organizational conversation, and enabled collaborative work to address this complex issue and make family homelessness in NYC brief and infrequent. This Research Advisory Group informed, developed, and supported the development of the HOMEworks research agenda by harnessing economic theories and proven practices in human sciences and sharing their knowledge, expertise, and experience. From this foundation, the HOMEworks agenda defined the studies, models, and pilot programs necessary to inform and create the HOMEworks plan as a rational and inclusive approach.
